Four Steps to Brand Yourself

All this time you must be searching for the weapon, the one which makes your life - an experience. What if I tell you that it's You! Let’s start with a small activity: What happens when you Google the following names; Albert Einstein, you get - The man who redefined genius; Muhammad Ali, you get - The Greatest, Marie Curie, you get - A woman of Firsts; Bruce Lee, you get - The man, The myth; Steve Jobs, you get - The man who thought different; Mahatma Gandhi, you get - The man who became one with the universal being; Bill Gates, you get - The richest man on Earth; Elon Musk - The man who wants to colonize Mars; Gary Vaynerchuk - A dude that loves the hustle, people & the NYjets Now google yourself. What did you find? Nothing on mine :( Just the social media. Want to change this? Build a Personal Brand. At this point, some of you may have thought, ‘Wait! Why do I need a significant google search results on me?’ To simply put it, the internet is your new resume. For better unde

Why we need Definite Optimists and How you can be one

If you are an average college student like me, the day to day life might look something like this: You’d (probably) go to your college daily, hang out with friends, maybe get your mind blown away by realizing that the days pass away ever so slowly but the semester ends too soon and be annoyed at that one guy who asks everyone,” Bro, what are your plans for the future?”(me). Let’s take a step back from this, try and do this exercise with me. Visualize yourself after a week’s time, what can you see yourself doing? What do you think you’ll be spending your time working on? What do you think you’ve gained? What would you be looking forward to? When I first did this exercise I was scared shit of the fact that I couldn't visualize my time and goals past a week or two. If you think that’s scary, how about thinking 6 months ahead or a year ahead? I'd be graduating from college in 2020 and I really can't visualize myself acting upon anything up till May 2020 or beyond(except

Why Brainstorm? - Jayesh's Take

A little bit about me, I’m a Mechanical Engineer from MESCOE (Wadia College) and a convent school alum. I have been that guy for my whole life. The observant, quiet, perceptive and someone who couldn’t fit in. I think about things and try to form conclusions. Some may miss the mark and some just plain right but I keep on with the process of thinking through things. I love to read up on Science, Math, Technology, Engineering, Psychology, Philosophy and see them coming together in various different environments and situations. My Vision for this blog would be to publish insights that are well researched and broken down to explain how these things seem interesting, especially applicable around us. The 'Why' for this blog could be broken down as follows: I love to write and began journaling and writing stories since the age of 6 or 7. It’s a way for me to learn and think through things. So, I thought of using the Internet to sharpen this skill. Personal Branding. The Int

Starting a Blog. But Why? - Pranav's Take

If you are expecting a one liner : I would say, personal branding. I came across that term for the first time in my college days, since then the idea of building it was stuck in my mind. Now here comes the bigger version, for those who can read on. [ Oh wait, what? You can’t? C’mon, don’t underestimate yourself, give it a try ;) ] Let’s start with what a DC movie has never done, character development. Who am I? (Believe me, writing this is weird) I am an engineer, a mechanical engineer. Graduated from VIIT (not VIT). A member of EDC-VIIT (an entrepreneurship cell). My schooling was predominantly from KVGK (yes a Kendriya Vidyalaya), and early primary from BVB. I don’t remember what kind of kid I was in BVB (maybe I was a personal favourite for bullies), but I was definitely the least known kid in my days in KVGK, not a good participator in events, just doing school for the sake of it. College was a bit different, not too different to make my character extraordinary, but enou
