Why Brainstorm? - Jayesh's Take

A little bit about me, I’m a Mechanical Engineer from MESCOE (Wadia College) and a convent school alum.

I have been that guy for my whole life. The observant, quiet, perceptive and someone who couldn’t fit in. I think about things and try to form conclusions. Some may miss the mark and some just plain right but I keep on with the process of thinking through things. I love to read up on Science, Math, Technology, Engineering, Psychology, Philosophy and see them coming together in various different environments and situations.

My Vision for this blog would be to publish insights that are well researched and broken down to explain how these things seem interesting, especially applicable around us.

The 'Why' for this blog could be broken down as follows:

I love to write and began journaling and writing stories since the age of 6 or 7. It’s a way for me to learn and think through things. So, I thought of using the Internet to sharpen this skill.

Personal Branding. The Internet has given us leverage which I plan to use to publish content.

As a tool for reflection to look back at the journey.

Although I wouldn’t want to restrict myself to a single genre, broadly speaking, I am interested in writing on technology, engineering, a few philosophical insights and any topics I can geek out about in mid-size to long-form blog posts.

We (I’ll be sharing the space with Pranav initially) also try and combine our different interests and come up with a long publication that might give you insight into the technology and business side of companies. We are also open to collaborating with different creators and expand the team or bring new topics with guest editors. We want this to be space for teeming ideas and discussions. As the name suggests this would be a space to brainstorm!

The small introduction in the very beginning was to clarify what topics I am interested in and why I wanted to start writing a blog.

As we publish content we will evolve and so will our vision so nothing written above is set in stone. We’re really interested in your ideas and would love to hear them through comments or email. The conversation itself might spark new connections.

We’ll be coming out with something interesting some time ahead.

The final statement I’d like to leave you with is that the Insights published will be intuitive, researched, open for conversation and the blog itself would contain something of interest for the readers. Let’s Brainstorm!

If you’d like to collaborate or team up, drop us an e-mail.

Cheers!
Jayesh

Why we need Definite Optimists and How you can be one

If you are an average college student like me, the day to day life might look something like this: You’d (probably) go to your college daily, hang out with friends, maybe get your mind blown away by realizing that the days pass away ever so slowly but the semester ends too soon and be annoyed at that one guy who asks everyone,” Bro, what are your plans for the future?”(me). Let’s take a step back from this, try and do this exercise with me. Visualize yourself after a week’s time, what can you see yourself doing? What do you think you’ll be spending your time working on? What do you think you’ve gained? What would you be looking forward to? When I first did this exercise I was scared shit of the fact that I couldn't visualize my time and goals past a week or two. If you think that’s scary, how about thinking 6 months ahead or a year ahead? I'd be graduating from college in 2020 and I really can't visualize myself acting upon anything up till May 2020 or beyond(except ...

Electronics market in India: The Government

This article comes as a necessity to analyze India’s electronics market potential post the recent ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make In India’ movements. Though COVID-19 has been a disaster for the economy as well as to the way of life, it has built-up a pedestal to consider local products and reconfigure supply chains to avoid future disruptions. The COVID-19 period has changed the perspective of many due to clearly defined changes in work culture, healthcare, and retail. So much that we can see an increase in the use of keywords — ‘pre-COVID’ and ‘post-COVID’. To get a better overview of what situation we are in and what must be our future moves, I spent a few hours googling and here’s what I found: There is particularly a lot to talk about when we consider a wide topic as 'a market', to limit the complexity this essay only goes through government initiatives and numbers. Future parts will dive more into technologies and desi industries. IBEF: A 2015 India Brand Equ...
